FDOT DISTRICT 2 SELECTS FRED WILSON & ASSOCIATES FOR DUVAL COUNTY PROJECT

August 15, 2016
Jacksonville, FL – Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. has been awarded a contract from the Florida Department of Transportation District 2 to provide resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation design engineering services for State Road 111 (Edgewood Avenue) from east of US 1 to east of Moncrief Creek in Duval County. Design services should be completed in winter of 2018..

Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. Announces Recent Contract Awards

Jacksonville, FL – Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. has been awarded continuing contracts to provide professional electric design and engineering services for the City of New Smyrna Beach, the City of Alachua, and the City of Mount Dora in Florida, as well as for Clemson University in South Carolina. Terms of the contracts vary. The City of Mount Dora has actually awarded FW&A two contracts: one for Professional Engineering Consultant Services for Electrical Utilities – Engineering, Planning & Operations; and one for Professional Engineering Consultant Services – Electric Utilities – Rate Related Services.

 Additionally, FW&A was awarded several JEA contracts, including civil engineering services for Cecil Commerce Center North Substation, and continuing contracts for Electrical Distribution Engineering Services, and for General Engineering Services for Transmission & Substation projects.

Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. Announces Recent Contract Awards

September 13, 2013
Jacksonville, FL – Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. has been awarded a continuing contract to provide professional electric design and engineering services for the City of Ocala. The term of the contract is three years, with two additional one-year options. The first task under this contract is construction support of a recently completed 230kV transmission line relocation.

 Additionally, FW&A was awarded a contract under Aerial Cartographics of America, Inc. (ACA) to provide facility rating services (LiDAR evaluations) for Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) members (Lakeland, Keys Energy, New Smyrna Beach and Lake Worth). The Lakeland and Keys Energy projects have already been completed, and the New Smyrna Beach project is now underway.

Under a four-year continuing services contract, FW&A is performing design services for an underwater cable crossing for the Utilities Commission of New Smyrna Beach. The project involves horizontal directional drilling underneath the Intracoastal Waterway, and design is expected to be complete by the end of 2013.

FDOT District 2 Selects Fred Wilson & Associates for Alachua County Project

September 13, 2013
Jacksonville, FL – Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. has been awarded a contract from the Florida Department of Transportation District 2 to provide resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation design engineering services for Interstate-75 from south of State Road 121 to south of State Road 222 in Alachua County. Design services should be completed in spring of 2015.

Jacksonville, FL – JEA has selected Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. to provide civil engineering services for Point Meadows Substation. Other members of the FW&A team include Meskel & Associates Engineering, PLLC (geotechnical engineering), Peacock Consulting Group, LLC (environmental consulting), Degrove Surveyors, Inc., and Janet O. Whitmill, RLA, Inc. (landscape architecture)

FW&A Awarded Electrical Utility Contracts

November 16, 2012

Jacksonville, FL – The City of Lakeland selected FW&A to provide electric power engineering services for Lakeland Electric under a three-year contract, renewable for up to two additional one-year periods.  FW&A was also awarded two contracts from a private utility company.

FW&A to provide engineering design services for University Blvd.

October 17, 2011

Jacksonville, FL – Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 2 has selected Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. (FW&A) to provide engineering design services for milling and resurfacing SR 109/University Blvd. from the west side of the I-95 interchange to the north side of the SR 212/Beach Blvd. intersection in Duval County. Work on the contract began this month.

JEA Selects FW&A for electric engineering services contract

April 1, 2011

Jacksonville, FL – Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. (FW&A) has been selected to provide Engineering Services for Electric Transmission and Substation Projects under a three-year, $1.75 million contract beginning in February 2011.  FW&A has served JEA through continuing service contracts since 2000, performing numerous substation, transmission, relaying and distribution engineering projects.

Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. to Provide Electrical Engineering Services for Green Cove Springs

Jacksonville, FL – The City of Green Cove Springs has selected Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. to provide electrical engineering services under an annual continuing contract, renewable for up to four additional one-year periods. Electrical engineering design services could include: 1) overhead and underground distribution infrastructure expansion; 2) enhanced substation design improvements; 3) voltage conversions; 4) SCADA system technology implementation; 5) enterprise-wide systems integration; 6) SCADA-Mate switching applications; or 7) RTU and relay communications.

Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. to Provide Engineering Services for FPUC

Jacksonville, FL – Florida Public Utilities Company has asked Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. (FW&A) to provide engineering services for its Northeast and Northwest offices. FW&A will perform electrical system studies for FPUC's two separate electrical divisions in Fernandina Beach, Fla., (serving Amelia Island) and in Marianna, Fla., serving parts of Jackson, Calhoun, and Liberty Counties. FPUC purchases power from JEA for the Northeast division and from Gulf Power for the Northwest division.

JEA Selects FW&A for Significant 230-kV Transmission System Addition

JEA, the largest municipal electric utility in Florida, confirmed their long-term confidence in Fred Wilson & Associates by selecting us, through a qualifications process, to design a new 230-kV transmission circuit from the FP&L Duval Substation to the JEA Jax Heights Substation.
